Eva Polizzi
Fiber and Ceramic Artist
Dichotomy marks my life. I grew up in Budapest, Hungary, but I made the United States my home over twenty years ago. I’ve always wanted to be an artist, but I studied linguistics. I tried my hands at every fiber technique, but I fell in love with clay when I finally was able to get a formal education in art. My precise, geometric wall plates and carefully designed woven panels mixed with accidental glaze results and intentional rips and holes filled with stitches interpret this liminality in code. So it seems that I am forever suspended between two worlds: this and the other side of the Atlantic, the written and woven language, and the realms of ethereal fibers and fired earth.
