Catherine Steinberg

I am a licensed psychotherapist, shamanic practitioner, artist, author and expressive arts workshop facilitator. I have lived in Guilford, CT, for over forty years and also spend time in Taos, NM. The colors and vast landscape of the southwest have influenced my painting. While I have done clay and metal sculpture in the past, my focus the last thirty years has been on painting. My paintings are abstract bringing inner visions and sensations to the canvas. From a meditative state, I work from the inside out using lots of color, rhythm and texture. I use acrylic and oil paints, along with cold wax and charcoal at times. I teach a meditative painting process called "shamanic painting" which combines my expertise in both of these areas.
