Mike Bower
Woodworker
I am retired from careers in education and psychology. I have served as a high school principal, a psychologist, a guidance counselor, a university professor, a drug/alcohol therapist and a university director of housing. Now I happily turn wood.
When woodturning I try to balance the tension between my design ideas and the design buried in the wood. At times, the wood alone determines the final piece and other times I have a final design in mind. I always want the uniqueness of the wood to shine through.
