Sandra Kensler

Sandra moved to Madison from the Midwest in 1990, exchanging her career in music education for a new life as a painter.  She has studied with award-winning artists in Connecticut and has exhibited in numerous juried shows in Connecticut, at the Salmagundi Club in New York, the New Britain Museum of American Art, and the New Haven Paint and Clay Club (NHPCC), where two of her works are in the permanent collection.  She holds artist memberships in the Guilford Art League, Madison Art Society, Clinton Art Society, and NHPCC.

She simplifies her work with new approaches, paring down design, using tight cropping, unusual angles, flattened forms, highlighted color, sharp-edged contour lines, and materials other than paint and canvas.
