Molly McDonald
Painter
After forty years as an art educator in both public and private sectors, Molly continues her studio work in retirement, exhibits in various galleries, and her artwork is in many private collections.
Molly's style is direct, whether abstract or representational. The artwork that she creates is in vivid color using oils, acrylics, or collage techniques. Fluid brush strokes and loaded palette knife are her tools. Molly draws her inspiration from life experiences past or present, as in a remembrance of the sea, light of the sun, or treasured moments with family or friends. "Painting is a thrill. I am captivated by the smell and feel of paint. I always want to play and push the limits of the material until all of a sudden the artwork seems just right, I walk away and start another one."
